Ned Kelly
Ned Kelly (1854 - 1880), Australian bushranger and bank robber. After shooting a constable in April, 1878, Kelly with his brother Dan and two others, held up a bank at Euroa for over 2000 pounds. They raided Jerilderie in February 1879 and kept plice at bay for more than a year. Eventually the gang was cornered at Glenrowan. Tried for murder he was condemned to death and hang in Melbourne on November 11, 1880. |
